Rosé from BLACKPINK reveals who she sings with on road trips.
Kelly Clarkson's neighborhood, kind of! On Monday (March 29), the BLACKPINK member, who recently released her solo album -R-, appeared digitally on The Kelly Clarkson Show to discuss her new single and which artists she enjoys singing along to while on the road.
The singer, who was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, told The Voice coach that her family used to go on long road trips that lasted seven to eight hours when she was younger. Naturally, spending so much time on the road necessitates a fun playlist to pass the time, and Rosé had just that.
Rosé began, "I sang a lot of Taylor Swift, Beyonce...," before adding another amazing artist to her list. "I wanted to emphasize that 'Because of You' was undoubtedly included in that playlist. I believe it was on repeat because I can sing it from beginning to end."
The third single from Clarkson's second studio album, Breakaway, was a success in 2004. It spent 37 weeks at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 7 in 2005.
Rosé also discussed the lead single from her debut solo album, "On the Ground." "I'd say the song has a strong emotional resonance for me. 'I worked my whole life, just to get up, just to be like, 'Look at me, I'm never coming down," says one line in the song. 'All I need is on the field,' it finally says "said the K-pop sensation. "This is the song that simply wants to hold everyone in check. Consider what is most important to us."
