Rihanna Is Giving Us Hope for New Music Once Again

Every time Rihanna teases new music, we'll believe her. (At this stage, she may just be trolling us, but our faith in her is unwavering.) Yesterday, the superstar and beauty mogul revealed the latest news while reacting to Instagram commenters who demanded a new release in her most recent post.

Rih was really celebrating the fact that her 2016 album, Anti, had remained on the Billboard 200 list for five years. She is the first Black woman to reach that milestone in her career. "Grateful to the Most High for placing die hard supporters in my circle," she captioned the photo, pointing out that the announcement fell during Women's History Month. "Thank you team, and congratulations to all who contributed to this era."

Rihanna replied, "I think I should," followed by a "soon" emoji, when one reader suggested she release a song to celebrate the good news. "Only one," she clarified. So don't get your hopes up for an entire album.

Fans are well aware that the singer has been slowly expanding her fashion and beauty empire in recent years, with an ever-expanding makeup and skincare line, lingerie line, and LVMH high-fashion line. Rihanna's beauty dominance continues with the possible launch of Fenty Hair, despite the closure of the third earlier this year.

We'll just have to keep waiting for new songs.

"I'm still focusing on music," Rihanna said last summer on Entertainment Tonight. "I'm still working on music, and when I'm able to release it in the way I see fit, I'll do so. And you will not be disappointed when it occurs. It'll be well worth it. I'm not going to release it just because people have been asking for it. I'm trying to make it worthwhile after all this time."
