In their Atlanta backyard, Jeezy marries Jeannie Mai.
Jeezy married TV host Jeannie Mai in their Atlanta backyard on Saturday. Vogue first broke the story with exclusive pictures from the at-home ceremony, and Mai followed up on Thursday with her own Instagram update (April 1).
"You will always be my 'I Do,'" Mai wrote alongside a picture of herself in her wedding gown on Instagram, signing the caption "Mrs. Jeannie Mai Jenkins."
Although quarantining together in Los Angeles, Jeezy (real name: Jay Jenkins) and Mai got engaged exactly a year before their wedding, on March 27, 2020. The rapper had planned to propose during a trip to Vietnam in April 2020, but it was postponed due to pandemic travel restrictions, so he improvised.
Tyrese performed his 1999 top 10 Hot Hip-Hop/R&B Songs hit "Sweet Lady" at Jeezy's wedding, which he delighted his now-wife with. Both out-of-town guests were expected to send negative COVID-19 test results two days prior to the ceremony, and testing was also available on-site prior to their backyard wedding.
The pair reportedly started dating in November 2018 and made their public debut on the red carpet at his nonprofit's Street Dreamz gala the following August.
In November, Jeezy released The Recession 2, his 12th studio album.
